Siding Installation by Anchor Siding LLC in mid-Michigan

New siding does two jobs at once: it changes how your home looks from the street, and it’s the layer standing between Michigan weather and your walls. Done right, with proper preparation and a real moisture barrier underneath, it protects the house for decades. Done fast and cheap, it traps water and causes the very problems it’s supposed to prevent.

We install vinyl, engineered wood, and fiber-cement siding, including James Hardie. Every install starts with proper wall preparation and a durable moisture barrier, then careful attention to flashing, sealing, and finish. As certified installers who never subcontract, we build the whole wall assembly the right way, the parts you see and the parts you don’t.

We handle siding installation for homeowners and property owners across Lansing, East Lansing, Okemos, St. Johns, Grand Ledge, Owosso, and the surrounding mid-Michigan communities, nine counties around our home base in St. Johns. Wherever you are in that area, you get the same thing: a licensed, insured, quality-vetted crew that never subcontracts, four manufacturer certifications behind the work, and a straight answer about what your home actually needs. That last part is the reason Andrew, Aaron, and Preston started Anchor in the first place.

Siding Installation the way it should be done.

It starts with a free, no-obligation look at what’s actually going on. We don’t quote siding installation over the phone or from a photo, we come out, inspect it properly, and give you an honest read on what your home needs. If a smaller fix will hold, we’ll tell you that. If it won’t, we’ll show you why, with pictures, so the decision is yours to make on real information.

Then our own crew does the work. We never subcontract siding installation to a rotating cast of strangers, the people who quoted your job are the people on your property, which is how the details stay right from the first fastener to the final cleanup. As certified installers, we do the work to manufacturer spec, not the fast way, because that’s what makes it last and keeps your warranty intact.

And we build for Michigan. Snow load, ice, wind, and the freeze-thaw that punishes everything up here, we account for all of it in how we detail the work. When we’re done, we clean up after ourselves and walk you through what we did. You’re left with siding installation you can stop thinking about, which is the whole point.

We won’t take your money for work your home doesn’t need. That’s the reason this company exists.

You won’t get a pitch from us for work your home doesn’t need, and you won’t get a number pulled from a photo. We come out, look at the job in person, explain what’s actually going on, and write down a fair price for the work that’s warranted. The people who quote it are the people who do it, because we never subcontract. Everything goes on to manufacturer spec, the standard behind our CertainTeed, LP SmartSide, James Hardie, and Lomanco certifications and the reason your warranty stays good. We’re fully licensed and insured, and the first look is free.

Straight answers about siding installation.

The questions people ask us before they sign, answered in plain words. Finished projects are in our gallery.

What siding is best for Michigan homes?

It depends on your priorities. Fiber cement (like James Hardie) is the most durable and weatherproof but costs more. Engineered wood (LP SmartSide) gives you the warmth of wood with better durability. Vinyl is the most affordable and lowest-maintenance. We’ll walk you through all three for your home and budget honestly.

How long does new siding last?

A quality siding install lasts decades, fiber cement can last 30 to 50 years, engineered wood and premium vinyl a bit less. The single biggest factor is the install: proper moisture barrier, flashing, and sealing are what determine whether siding protects the wall or traps water against it.

Do you install James Hardie fiber cement?

Yes, we’re James Hardie certified installers. Fiber cement is the premium option for durability and weather resistance, and it’s engineered to handle Michigan’s freeze-thaw cycles. Because it has to be installed to spec, certification matters, and we install it the right way.

Why does the moisture barrier matter so much?

The siding you see isn’t the waterproofing, the weather-resistive barrier behind it is. If that layer and the flashing around windows and doors are done wrong, water gets into the wall and rots the sheathing and framing from behind. Getting the barrier right is the difference between siding that protects and siding that damages.

Will new siding improve my home’s value?

Good siding improves both curb appeal and protection, and both matter to value, especially with an older, established home. New siding that’s properly installed also removes a maintenance and water-damage liability that buyers notice. It’s one of the more visible, lasting improvements you can make.

How much does siding installation cost?

It depends on the size of the home, the material you choose, and the condition of the walls underneath. We give you a clear written price after inspecting the home, and we’ll show you the difference between the material options so you can decide what’s right for you.
